Chapter 01

Chapter 1

My name is Seamus Denham. I was born in Wales circa 1642. I was the son of a farmer. On my 13th birthday, a black dog with blood-red eyes wandered onto the plot of land our lord gave my father as I was practicing my swordsmanship. He attacked me, but I stabbed him through the heart. Surprisingly, he bound off like nothing had happened. Then I blacked out.
My father had taken me to the local alchemist to get fixed up. The alchemist described me as “slowly dying,” but said he could fix me up. A few days later, I woke up. The alchemist said that I had been attacked by the Cu Sith, a canine avatar of death, and that I had only fended him off because my sword was tipped with a piece of the Blade of Chulainn, a sword wielded by Ireland’s greatest hero. How it got in Wales, I will never know. The alchemist’s treatment made me immortal.

A few centuries later, I was wandering through Czechoslovakia when two strange men captured me. I was locked away for fifty years while they experimented on me. In late 2014, I was released on the condition that I joined the shadow organization’s black ops unit for killing supernatural things. I accepted, of course. Those experiments were quite painful.Chapter 1
